Today is significant to me. I went into labor at 39 weeks and 5 days. Today, Tara is 39 weeks and 5 days old. Outside for as long as she was inside.
39 weeks and 5 days ago, I had my first contraction. “Use the word 'expansion' instead of ‘contraction’ in your mind to describe to yourself what is happening in your body,” the childbirth teacher said. Sounded like fluffy hippy language to me. “During a contraction, the muscles in your uterus tighten up like a fist and then relax to push the baby out,” she continued. Okay, science as poetry - my favorite combo.
The strongest contractions lead to incredible expansions.
